Developing Effective Professional Learning

As education evolves, so too must the professional development (PD) opportunities available to teachers, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to foster meaningful, technology-enhanced learning experiences for their students. The outline aims to integrate two key models—my Innovation Plan, the Enriched Virtual Model for students and the "Go and Show" Professional Learning model for teachers— to create a dynamic, supportive, and ongoing professional learning environment that empowers educators to embrace and effectively use technology in the classroom.

The Enriched Virtual Model allows students to engage with content in a flexible, technology-driven learning environment that combines both online and in-person experiences, optimizing student engagement and achievement. At the same time, the "Go and Show" model of PD focuses on active, hands-on learning for teachers, where they have the opportunity to demonstrate and share their successes with peers, creating a culture of collaboration and mutual growth. This PD plan will be designed around five principles of effective professional development, ensuring that teachers receive ongoing support, active engagement, and personalized feedback as they navigate the challenges of integrating technology into their teaching practices.

This innovation plan will explore key components such as the structure and timeline of the PD, the support systems in place, how collaboration will be fostered, and how the plan will align with the Enriched Virtual Model to meet both teacher and student needs. Through this approach, teachers will have the opportunity to lead, learn, and share, thereby improving educational outcomes in a technology-driven world.
