PD Outline

To adapt this plan to support the Enriched Virtual Model for teachers, it will be important to integrate a blended learning approach that combines both in-person and online components while emphasizing flexibility, collaboration, and personalized professional learning. Below is how you could modify and align the existing structure with the Enriched Virtual Model:

Purpose/Audience/Learning Management System

  • Empower teachers to create engaging, interactive content for both synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences.

  • Enhance teaching and learning outcomes through the integration of digital tools and innovative pedagogies.

  • Foster a culture of continuous innovation in digital content creation and professional growth.

Course Structure

In-Person Workshops (Weeks 2, 5 & 11)

  • Three 90-minute sessions

    • Focus: Hands-on activities, live demonstrations, and collaborative peer-to-peer learning.

    • Emphasize: Building skills in creating interactive, engaging digital content for the classroom, modeling innovative practices, and providing personalized feedback.

    • Goal: Teachers will apply tools such as Adobe Captivate and other digital tools in real-time, receiving immediate feedback from peers and facilitators.

    •

Online Course (Weeks 1-15)

This course will operate with the Enriched Virtual Model, where online content is delivered asynchronously, while in-person sessions provide opportunities for hands-on practice, collaboration, and real-time support.

Key Components of the Enriched Virtual Model:

  1. Blended Learning: Combining asynchronous online learning with synchronous in-person sessions to ensure flexibility and continuous engagement. Teachers will have the freedom to work through the course materials on their own time but also come together for hands-on activities.

  2. Ongoing Support: Continuous access to online resources, forums, virtual coaching, and peer collaboration to ensure ongoing learning and support throughout the course. Teachers will have regular opportunities for reflection and feedback.

  3. Collaborative Learning: Teachers will work in peer groups to share resources, insights, and feedback in both online discussions and during in-person sessions.

  4. Personalized Learning: Content and activities are tailored to teachers’ specific needs and areas of interest, with a focus on practical applications for their classrooms.

By adopting this approach, the course will support the development of digital literacy and innovative teaching practices among educators, with a strong emphasis on collaboration, real-time feedback, and peer-supported learning.
